SOLUTIONS

1.c)TRICKS
√{3.(64/3)} = 8 MINUTES

2.d)
Marks of T = 75
Marks of R = 65
Marks of Q = 110
Marks of P = 85
Marks of U = 120
Maximum marks = 200
Required percentage = (120/200) * 100= 60 %

3.a)TRICKS
Let the odd numbers be x, x + 2, x + 4, x + 6
and the even numbers be y, y + 2, y + 4.
Now (4x + 12) – (3y + 6) = 20 And (y + 4) – (x + 6) = 5
Solving them, we get x = 35 and y = 42
Required sum = 35 + 42 = 77

4.b)TRICKS
Let initial CP of the book is X
∴Cost price of Shishir = (X * 120 *125 * 90)/(100 * 100 * 100)
= 1.35X
Required percentage loss = {(1.35x –X) *100}/1.35x = 25.92 %

5.d)TRICKS
5 % = 14
∴100% = 280
SP= 280
CP= 200
New SP = {280 * (100-20)}/100=224
Profit = 224-200= 24

6.b)TRICKS
P1/P2 = (1 + 10/100)3-2
P1/P2 =11/10
P2 = (10 * 10500)/21 = 5000

7.a)TRICKS
I * 100 = 9000(8*2 + 9.5 *4 + 11 * 2 + 12 *4)
I= 11160
Amount = 9000 + 11160= 20160

8.a)TRICKS
Ratio of investment A : B : C
A:b:c:=(8000×12) : (12000×4)+(16000×8) : (16000×9)+(12000×3)  =24 : 44 : 45
Share of A =(24 *22600)/113 = Rs. 4800

9.a)TRICKS
Let the speed of second train X km/hr
∴Speed of First train = (X+ 9)
According to question
92= (X+9+X) * 4
X= 8
Speed of first train = 15 km/hr

10.b)TRICKS
(2 * 9/2 *3 * 9/4) /(9/2 *3 + 3*9/4 + 9/4*9/2)

11.a)TRICKS
For first 3 years , Amount *100= 15000(100+8*3)
Amount= 18600
After 3 years C.I 18600 * .21= 3906
Required answer 18600 + 3906 =22506

12.e)TRICKS
Total distance = 60 km
Let Ram’s speed X km/hr , Shyam’s Speed Y km/hr
60/X – 60/Y = 1 ..(i)
60/Y – 60/2x=1/2 … (ii)
From (i) & (ii)
X= 20 km/hr

13.d)TRICKS
Let Initially cask hold X litres of wine
(X-6)2 /(X) = (121)/(121 + 23)
(X-6)2 /(X.X) = (121)/(144)
(X-6)/X=11/12
X= 72 litres

14.c)TRICKS
Distance travelled by passenger train in ( 9-4 ) =5 hours
=5 *30 = 150 km
time required to cross the passenger train by mail train
150 = 15 * T
T= 10 hr
so second train will overtake the first, 10 hours after the second train starts
