10 Mixture Allegation math problems questions : Answers
1.A)
In mixture,
milk = (60+12)/2=36 lit
water=(60-12)/2=24 lit
Required ratio =36 : (24+10)=36:34=18:17

2.C)
After first operation ,
Milk in vessel A= 60-12=48 litres
Mixture in vessel B= 28 +12=40 litres
Ratio of water : Milk in vessel B is =28:12=7:3
After second operation,
When 8 litre of the mixture taken from vessel B,
Water is taken 8*(7/10)=56/10=28/5
Milk is taken 8*(3/10)=24/10=12/5
Milk in vessel A=48+(12/5)=252/5 litres
Water in vessel B = 28-(28/5)=112/5 litres
Required ratio = 252/5 : 112/5 =63 : 28 =9:4

3.E)
In 72 litre mixture ratio of milk and water is 80:20=4:1
So milk is 72*(4/5) & water is 72* (1/5)
In 9 litres mixture .
Milk is 9*(4/5) & water is 9*(1/5)
So New mixture will be 72-9+17=80 litre
In new mixture milk will be = 72 *(4/5) -9*(4/5)=63*(4/5)
Required % = (63 *4/5*100)/80=63 %

4.C)
Ratio of milk to water in jar A =140 : 25 =28 :5
The quantity of mixture taken out from Jar A = X litre
Then, the quantity of milk = (28X/33) & water =(5X/33)
Now in jar B
{(28X/33)+16}/ (5X/33)=21/2
X=21.55 litre

5.B)
Apply alligation method

6.C)
Required result = 60 * {(60-6)(60-6)}/(60 *60)=48.6 litre

7.B)
In jar A , Milk is 40 & water is 20 litre
In jar B, Let water X & milk is 40-X
According to questions,
(40 +40-X)/(20+X)=13/7
X=15 litres
Hence Jar B has the 16 litre water.

8.B)
Apply alligation method

9.A)
After first operation,
In A contain 80-16=64 litre milk and B contain 44+16=60 litre mixture
10 litres of the mixture is taken out from vessel B
Then, in 10 litres mixture milk contained= 10 *16/60= 8/3 litre
In 10 litres mixture water contained =10 * 44/60=22/3 litre
Pure milk in vessel A = 64 +8/3=200/3 litre
Pure water in vessel B = 44- 22/3= 110/3 litre
So ratio of pure milk in vessel A to pure water in vessel B = 200 :110=20 : 11

10.C)in 40 litres mixture the amount of milk = 40 *3/10=12 litre
And water =40 * 7/10= 28 litre
Let 5X litres mixture from second pot be poured into the first pot.
In 5X litres, milk is 4X & water is X litre
According to question,
(12+4X)/(28+X)=2/3
X=2
Required amount of the mixture =5*2=10 litre
